♠ still wears his jump boots, jokes that they're finally comfortable.
♠ has a tiny bit of a gambling problem when it comes to card games, never cheats though.
♠ plays the piano, doesn't have the patience for guitar.
♠ only a few people call him Babe - and virtually no one calls him Edward.
♠ the only time he was ever starstruck was when he met Elvis Presley. he's still inspired.
♠ he's far more popular in Europe than the States, and he's okay with that.
♠ doesn't like flying, he gets restless and nostalgic.
♠ survives on expired blood bags he purchases from the Red Cross. and also synthetic if needed.
♠ still keeps one dog tag from each of the men he lost under his command.
♠ he likes all types of music but he doesn't understand hip hop. at all.
♠ released his first album Bastogne in early 2009 and had his first hit. he had a decent fanbase and mostly played small sold-out venues.
♠ a little less than two years later he released Day of Days, his second album, which gained more popularity and thrust him into the spotlight. interviews, award shows, and an actual full year and a half world tour.
♠ by the end stretch of his tour, vampires had been "outted" and so with the announcement, and releasing a single from his upcoming third album entitled "vampire", he came out of the coffin. his record sales flip-flopped for a while and he was asked plenty of uncomfortable questions, but by the time Carentan was released, people were more accepting of the idea.
♠ following a much shorter tour, he had his own show in Vegas that ran for six months.
♠ he's currently working on a third untitled album that's scheduled to drop early spring 2016.
Edward was the second born child to Catherine and George Ramsey in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had an older brother, Ralphie, by four years and eventually a younger sister, Beth. Growing up in the streets of Philly during the Great Depression wasn't a slice of heaven, or cake for that matter. He and his brother were prone to getting into trouble on a nearly hourly basis, they were little terrors - but always sticking together and never bailing out on each other. Even when their mother enrolled Ralphie into the Citizens Military Training Camp, she enrolled Edward too - lying on his application saying he was eighteen, but small for his age, because he was really only fifteen. Were it not for his brother, Eddie wouldn't have made it through three summers of the program - which had been cut short due to the start of Hitler's war in Europe. Despite wanting to ship off to war with his brother, he stayed behind for his mother's sake and received his high school diploma while carrying a job.
In 1942 he enlisted in the paratroopers - enticed by the idea of being not only the first, but the most bad ass and best of the Army. Going into training, having completed three summers at CMTC - he would become a non-commissioned officer. Course it didn't help that because of his mouth and habit of fighting and gambling (for money and Lucky's), he was demoted to private twice. Regardless, they were a tight-knit group, and Eddie had nicknames for everyone - he earned his own nickname, Babe, during platoon baseball games, that his squad often won.
After training had been moved to England, and completed, the company was to make the jump into Normandy. D-Day had been a clusterfuck, but a successful invasion nonetheless. The first few days of battle he was ruthless and full of rage - but followed orders and made smart strategic decisions. From then on, he remained with the company and was in charge of his squad through nearly every battle the company participated in - promoted eventually to Sergeant First Class, an E-7 Officer, the highest rank for a non-com. He was one lucky son of a bitch, only getting wounded by some mortar shelling in his side that was an easy fix for the medics and required no hospitalization. He hated hospitals. Later when the company took part in the Ardennes Offensive in December of '44 - Babe lost some of his closest friends, and his brother who had been fighting in the Pacific theatre, and fell ill with pneumonia from sharing his coat and extra socks with his men. December 26th, a day before Patton arrived, he was evacuated to an aid station.
Babe was in the hospital from December 28th until January 7, 1945. It was there, suffering from pneumonia and trench foot that he vowed if he ever got out of the war alive - he would never hurt another living thing, carry a gun, and live his life in peace. It was also there that he met Abigail - a night nurse. She was his angel, quite literally as while he slept one night she gave him some of her blood, healing him overnight. Babe owed her his life. While he didn't get a chance to say goodbye the day he left, he kept the address of the aid station and wrote her while in Germany. After May 8th, V-E Day, and the sudden disappearance of his friend Elijah - he got a weekend pass and took a train to go visit Abby. He didn't have enough points and would soon be starting training again to ship off to the Pacific theatre and wanted to say a proper goodbye. The cab Babe had taken was involved in a head-on collision near Abby's residence, leaving him fatally injured. Abby found him and turned him, took care of him. To the rest of the company and his men, he had died from the wounds he received in the car crash. Leaving his men, and knowing the impact his death would have on his family after Ralph had died months earlier, had been the hardest thing he had ever done.
Ever since he first became a vampire, he refused to harm an unwilling human. The war for him was over, he didn't want to hurt a fly. The Red Cross was no help either, they were still short on blood. He wasn't comfortable, or very good, with glamoring and so early on, Babe was prone to the bleeds from not feeding regularly. Abigail was able to teach him to control the bloodlust, though he still preferred to live off of donated blood bags. Over the years Babe eventually left Abby's side, returning to the United States in the late eighties. He started making rounds to some of the Company reunions claiming to be his own grandson, but as the numbers got smaller by each passing year he stopped going.
After the death of his sister Beth, he emerged into society - at least the nightlife - as an entertainer with a band. He gained a quick fanbase, his singing, vintage style, and charm boding well at popular nightclubs. It allowed him to travel a lot - bouncing back and forth between the States and Europe until he was officially signed by a recording studio and released his first album in 2009. When vampires "came out of the coffin", he too, went public.
